God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen

Dieu Vous Repose, Gentilshommes

L'ange a donné.
Il a dit que le Fils de Dieu, par nom,
Il est né.
O, nouvelles de confort et joie.
Confort et joie.
O, nouvelles de confort et joie.

(God rests you, Gentlemen.
Don’t be dismayed.
The Christ, Our Savior,
On Christmas, he was born.
He saved us from Satan
When we had sinned.
O, tidings of comfort and joy.
Comfort and joy.
O, tidings of comfort and joy.

In Bethlehem, in Israel,
This baby, He was born.
On this blessed morning,
In a manger, he was placed.
The which His Mother, Mary, nothing took in scorn.
O, tidings of comfort and joy.
Comfort and joy.
O, tidings of comfort and joy.

From God, Our divine Father,
An angel arrived.
And to the shepherds, joyous tidings,
The angel gave.
He said that the Son of God, by name,
He was born.
O, tidings of comfort and joy.
Comfort and joy.
O, tidings of comfort and joy.)

Christmas Music

It's coming to that time of year again, which means: I have to do some sort of Christmas CD. I'm thinking about calling this one "The Religious Side of Christmas" because we don't get enough Christianity in Christmas anymore. There will be two parts: English and French. I may include a third (Russian) part. Right now, all I have are the French translations (that I did myself) of God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen (Dieu Vous Repose, Gentilshommes) and The Twelve Days of Christmas (Les Douze Jours de Noël), which I found out might have been used to help young Catholics learn their faith.

TheDangerZone is now on iTunes!!!

I was just checking the store today to see if it was there, and it was! I'm on iTunes! It was kind of cool to see my CD in the store.

It's been there since October 21, apparently. I had no idea. Here's the link: Luke Morin

New Song Idea

I actually thought it up a few weeks ago, but I'm posting about it now. It's a piano piece called "Let Me". I want to include it as a sort of bonus track on the album.

C'est Gâché! (Full Chorus)

C'est gâché!
Quand je te sais pas,
Je te déteste.
Je me fais à toi.
Ceci et cela.

Avec le raisonnement,
Dis que ça m'est égal.
Dès ton armée altérée,
Je le t'ai dit
C'est Gâché!

It's messed up!
When I don't know you,
I hate you.
I'm getting used to you.
This and that.

With reasoning,
Say that it means nothing to you.
From your corrupted army,
I've said to you
It's Messed Up!

The second part of the chorus will only be for the end of the song.

C'est Gâché

I was listening to some French music the other day ("(Je suis) Jalouse" and "L'autre bout du monde" by Emily Loizeau and "Ce que je suis" by Holden). It inspired me to redo the lyrics I had written for C'est Gâché. Here's what I have right now with my own translation.

(Je ne pige pas. Pourquoi je suis comme ça? Je ne peux pas...)
C'est gâché!
Quand je te sais pas,
Je te déteste.
Je me fais à toi,
Ceci et cela.

My Translation:
(I don't understand. Why am I like this? I can't...)
It's messed up!
When I don't know you,
I hate you.
I'm getting used to you,
This and that.

I'm also working on the music to go along with it. It's a bit of a stretch right now, but I'm sure after a little tweaking, the song will turn out to be pretty good.
